grace, as defined in the dictionary, means "Favor; good will; kindness; disposition to oblige another; as a grant made as an act of grace." We need that in the world, today, don't we? We need that for our community, our family, and even ourselves. Maybe most importantly for ourselves?

But the prime definition of grace - where the popular or conventional understanding of grace flows from - is a distinctly Biblical definition. It means "the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him."

We believe that the reason we should be committed to building a community around that concept of grace is because it's not our idea: it's God's.

We are a local church because Jesus commanded his disciples to gather as often as possible to worship the Father in celebration, connect with each other in life-changing fellowship, teach and enrich each other towards maturity, equip each other for ministry to each other, and reach out to the world with the Good News that - oh, yes, indeed: God is merciful and full of grace toward us.

Stubborn Love.

Grace isn't a perfect church. In fact, we disappoint each other all the time. But we're committed to learning to love each other and live our lives around each other. It's not easy. But we know there's a blessing in the stubbornness. We may fail, but we're committed to fearlessly finding grace, receiving grace, and giving grace. It's a learning process.

It's Grace. That's why we're Grace Community Church.
